When booking a language course with most companies, you can be lucky and get a very good trainer or unlucky and get a bad trainer. At aristocom international, we want to make sure you get aristocom quality when you book a course with us.

Therefore, we create a detailed concept for each course, including videos, discussion points, simulations and case studies, to ensure that you know upfront which contents will be discussed and the methods used.

Both you and/or your company and the trainer have full transparency and should you miss a lesson, you know exactly what has been done. If a trainer changes, the new trainer knows exactly how and where to continue and you don’t have a loss of time or an entirely different course but continue seamlessly.

To ensure the best possible quality, all our trainers are employed and we do not work with external freelancers.

The 5 Step System

Every course (apart from the workshops) follows the aristocom 5 step system™. All 20 units follow this principle based on one topic, then the next 20 on another topic also following the 5 step system etc.

Step 1

Introduction of topic through discussions, listening exercises, videos etc. in relation to your own business/life.

Step 2

Enhancement of relevant (business) vocabulary about the topics, professional vocabulary etc

Step 3

Grammar in context – work out rules through business texts, role play, discussions etc.

Step 4

Daily Business Session – work on your own presentations, emails, tour through your company, presentation of products and/or processes etc.

Step 5

Case Study – apply all learned elements to a case study, test, aristocom Entertainment Session – multimedia session about current and cultural topics.

Reporting

How many lessons have been used? How many are remaining? Who was missing and why? Which contents have been done, what homework assigned?

Our monthly digital reporting gives you full transparency about the courses in your company and enables us to monitor the progress, attendance of students and help out if we feel the motivation levels may be going down as well as ensure the trainer is sticking to the concept or using the extra services and material we provide.

Furthermore, at the end of each course you can look at all the topics you have done so far and thus the progress you have made.

Full transparency through our reporting system.

Certificates

When you pass a minimum of one test in a course and finish an 80 unit course leading to a half level according to the CEF (e.g. A1-1, B1-2, C1-1 etc.), you will be issued a certificate incl. your passing grade. The passing grade is the average of the tests written in the 80 units (or if you joined in the 2nd course, the so called “y” course, then the average of those 2 tests) in Business and General Courses.

In Blended courses (New Media Courses) it is the average of the 10 best out of the 14 self-study assignments and tests in 2 courses (or respectively, 5 out of 7 assignments in the 2nd course if you only did a “y course”.)

Monitoring

To ensure that the trainer is using both the concept, games, the teaching and mistake correction methods we provide and to help the trainers improve their training skills even further, a master trainer or even a member of the board, visits the lesson of each trainer (up to a senior level) min. twice a year, watched them in class and gives them a feedback session on their training skills.

They talk to the students and develop new methods how to even further improve our quality.

Academy

Despite the highest possible quality assurance on the concepts and methods, it is of the utmost importance to have a good trainer. We don’t only pay great attention when selecting trainers, but every trainer goes through our academy program before they start teaching.

This serves as a quality assurance for the client, as well as a great help for new team members as nobody is just thrown into the deep end. During the 2 week academy program, every new trainer learns the following:

– Administration (transparency)

– How to work with concepts

– How to conduct feedback sessions

– Teaching 101

– Didactical Basics

– Mistake Correction

– Grammar with Fun

– Idioms

– How to use multimedia as a teaching tool

– Make lessons daily business related

– Organise outside sessions

– Daily Business Sessions

Train the Trainer

To maintain the high quality of teaching and use the peer to peer synergies, aristocom international organises a Train the Trainer seminar every quarter.

New trainers are introduced and teach a short sequence to receive feedback by more senior trainers.

We then work on teaching methods, whether it’s new materials we introduce, grammar teaching methods, how to cope with conflicts or similar.

Afterwards we have a feedback round and talk about problems that may arise in lessons and how to cope with them and clarify all questions trainers may have.

Of course, socialising is an important aspect of these meetings, and a joint breakfast is not just a welcome break during the seminar but also a chance to meet other trainers who work with aristocom international.

Placement Test

To find out your level (and the perfect group and/or concept), we don’t only conduct a written test but also an oral test with you, either in person or on the phone.

This is important as the written and oral level often do not correspond and both are as important. And as our courses have a very high level of speaking, this gives you a great chance to test your knowledge and get a first feel for the course.

To do an online test of your writing, reading & listening skills, please click here: http://www.sprachtest.de/

Progress Test

To ensure you are making the progress you wish, have the right group/level and to keep your motivation high, we recommend doing 2 progress tests during one course (semester) in general and business classes.

The tests cover all skills, incl. reading, writing, listening and speaking.

In the Blended Concept (New Media concepts), your self-study (online platform work, worksheets and peer work) is graded and thus you have continuous motivation and monitoring of your progress. Additional to the self-study assignments you can do 1-2 short 10-minute-tests.
